Description of Belly boat Fly fishing on Soča river

Flowing through the breath-taking Trenta Valley in the Julian Alps, the Soča is the most iconic river in Slovenia. Its upper parts are full of cascades, rapids and pools that can be accessed easily from the road. This stunning alpine river then weaves its way through a canyon, where fishing takes on a very back-to-nature turn. The fish populous is plentiful throughout the Soča. It includes the Marble Trout, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout and Grayling, which differs from other Grayling species in Slovenia. Chub and Barbel can also be found in its tributaries Lepenjica, Koritnica and Nadiža. The Soča’s gravel bottoms and pools make it suitable for fly-fishing throughout most of the year.

Your fishing adventure begins in the morning. Together with our local guide, you’ll take a ride to the Soča Lake in your belly boat. Fishing the famous Marble Trout and all other Trout species that reside in the Soča. You’ll take regular breaks by anchoring along the embankment, where you’ll dry up and recharge your batteries to continue your hunt for the Soča-dwelling beasts. The fishing trip lasts all day.

I did it, i caught my Marbel! A new experience for me and very exciting fishing. My leg muscles hurt today, but yesterday was totally worth it to cruise with belly boat down such a gorgeous river.

This type of fishing is definitely something else! Fishing from a different perspective. Would do this again in a heart beat!

With Bely boat we were able to get to fishing spots that were not accessible from the shore, and this is exactly where my biggest Trout of the day was waiting for me, otherwise not a marble, but I didn't defend the Rainbow trout either.
