Barben er almindelig i de langsomt str\u00f8mmende dele af So\u010da-floden, der ligger p\u00e5 klippebund, n\u00e6r byerne Idrija og Kobarid, samt i s\u00f8en Most na So\u010di, og den afsl\u00f8res af dens karakteristiske r\u00f8dlige finner og knurh\u00e5r. Barberens mindste fangstst\u00f8rrelse er 30 cm, men den kan n\u00e5 en st\u00f8rrelse p\u00e5 80 cm og en v\u00e6gt p\u00e5 over 5 kg. Barben er en meget konkurrencedygtig fisk, hvilket g\u00f8r den perfekt til en sp\u00e6ndende sportsfisketur. S\u00e6sonen for fangst af barber g\u00e5r fra april til oktober.<\/p>\n
