Description of Fly fishing on Krka river

Located in south-eastern Slovenia, the Krka is a tributary of the Sava and is characterised by transparently green pools and numerous rapids. Hence its second name, the Slovenian Green river. It also has lots of small dams, which are the perfect hiding spot for all fish species and consequently those will be the places you will definitely visit on your fishing trip. Fish in this river are known to be especially powerful and do not give up easily. The Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout feel at home in the river’s source, joined downstream by the Grayling and Chub.

Your fishing adventure begins in the morning, when our local guide will take you to the best fishing spots on the river. Your main target fish on the Krka River will be the Brown trout, Rainbow Trout and Grayling. Breaks for refreshment and food will be held to recharge your batteries in wake of fresh battles with the rapids and fish that live beneath the dams. Fishing trip can last all day or half a day, depending on your preference.

Krka is also great for Huchen fishing, so if you want to try fly fishing for Huchen, don't hesitate to contact us, so we can sort out the details.

Epic day, such strong fishes, interesting fishing, especially on the dams, where I almost slipped but at the same time managed to catch the most fish lurking right under my feet.

The guide Jani knew some great spots for us. Using his "magical nymph" that fish just couldn't resist we were on fire! The river was spectacular, so clear.

Fishing day spent in untouched nature. I liked the break our guide Jani made for lunch, which was on the lawn by the water. caught my biggest Rainbow trout at 54cm
