The Unica’s journey begins on the southern edge of one of the best-preserved Karst plateaus, the confluence of the Pivka and Malenščica. This beautiful chalk stream winds its way across the Planinsko polje valley and offers exceptional fishing conditions. Between autumn and late spring, The Unica floods the valley, providing lush reserves of food to its fish population. This river is most famous for Grayling, but the Brown Trout can also be caught in its waters.
Your fishing adventure begins in the morning, when our local guide will take you to the best fishing areas on the river. In the morning hours, the Grayling is still relatively shy, so your target species will be Trout. Come afternoon, you’ll be hunting for the exquisitely colourful Grayling. Breaks for refreshment and food will be had to recharge your batteries in wake of fresh battles with the fish that live in the Unica. The fishing trip can last all day or half a day, depending on your preference.
