Description
In the morning you wil meet with your guide in the harbour, where he will explain you the details of the trip and help you get acquaited with the fishing tackle he is using, so that when the big fish bites, there will be no mistakes. Then it’s off to the boat and the high seas.
With various fishing techniques ranging from drifting, trolling, bottom fishing and more, you’ll compete in who can catch the largest Tuna, Dentex or other inhabitants of the Adriatic Sea. Meanwhile, your guide will supply you with fresh sea food, prepared right there on the boat, so that you will have plenty of energy to fight the predators who live in the Adriatic Sea.
Trip will end in the evening, when you will hopefully help your guide unload a few tunas from the boat and grab a dinner in the local restaurant, to celebrate your catch.

Fish
Tuna is a saltwater predator. There are 15 types of Tuna, ranging in size from 50 cm to 4.6 m and weighing up to 684 kg (bluefin Tuna). It’s one of the few species that can maintain their body temperature higher than that of the water they swim in. Their hydrodynamic bodies make Tuna enviably fast. Tuna found in the Adriatic Sea can weigh from 30 to 200 kg or more.
Dentex is a saltwater fish that belongs to the Sparidea family. It has a laterally compressed body, a high back and a metallic shine. It grows up to one metre in length and can weigh up to 15 kg. Dentex can be found in the Mediterranean, Adriatic and the Atlantic Ocean, up to a depth of 200 m. It’s fished mainly in August and September.
This predatory fish can grow up to 450 cm in length and weigh up to 680 kg. It has a hydrodynamic, slender and elongated body that ends in a very strong tail. It’s one of the fastest fish, reaching speeds of up to 100 km/h. Its back is dark blue and brown and its belly is silver or light grey in colour. The Swordfish is characterised by a small head with large eyes that can see exceptionally well in the dark. Its long and flat beak is an extended upper jaw. Swordfish live in pairs or small schools and are found almost everywhere. Their main natural habitat can be found in the Mediterranean along the coastlines of Sicily and Malta, while in the Atlantic they are present mainly near South America and Africa, with fewer numbers swimming off the US coast. Most Swordfish close to Slovenia are found in the southern and central Adriatic, and tend to dwell at greater depths.
Fishing guides
My story began in 1976 as a young fisherman’s son. We spent all summers on the coast and curiosity led me to explore Croatian islands lengthwise and crosswise. During my 35 years of experience, the sea has become my second home and I often consider it as my first home as well. At the moment, I’m practicing top-level fishing: Big Game Fishing. My other love is cooking and culinary has been my core business over the past 20 years.
With my knowledge of food science, nutrition and dietary knowledge, I opened restaurants in Slovenia as well as catering services all over Europe.
