I graduated in forestry engineering, but fishing has been a passion of mine since I was 3 years old when my dad first took me fishing. I enjoy all types of fishing techniques, but for the past 20 years I have focused mainly on fly fishing and spin fishing. Nymphing is still my favourite. I’ve gained my experience while fishing on practically every Slovenian river and lake. I’m fluent in English and German.
Rok has been an enthusiastic fly fisherman since he was 12 years old. Twenty years ago he began introducing guiding tours for foreign anglers on Slovenian rivers and has been very successful so far. He is an experienced guide with many trophies and lots of experience. He knows every river in Slovenia and is also fishing across the border. He loves nymphing and is an expert in fly tying. His favourite fish is marble trout.
The sea and fishing have been my passion since I was a kid. At an early age, I won numerous fishing medals all around the world and won the Number 1 National Prize Fishing Award in boat angling and came 3 rd in the World Prize Fishing Team competition. I love doing this with all my heart. I offer bolentino, drifting, trolling, egging, and tataki fishing techniques.
My story began in 1976 as a young fisherman’s son. We spent all summers on the coast and curiosity led me to explore Croatian islands lengthwise and crosswise. During my 35 years of experience, the sea has become my second home and I often consider it as my first home as well. At the moment, I’m practicing top-level fishing: Big Game Fishing. My other love is cooking and culinary has been my core business over the past 20 years.
With my knowledge of food science, nutrition and dietary knowledge, I opened restaurants in Slovenia as well as catering services all over Europe.
I started fishing as a child. Later, I was drawn to carp fishing and decided to specialise in this technique. Through the years, I gained a lot of precious experience and knowhow. I explored fishing on numerous waters around Slovenia, beat my records and fell deeply in love with this type of fishing. My current record rests at 32.5 kg, but of course my aim is to do even better. When I received an offer to create the Fishing Guides Slovenia webpage and thus help introduce Slovenian fishing to the world, I jumped at the opportunity and never looked back. I’m extremely proud of our Fishing Guides Slovenia brand which strives to bring the wonderful sport of fishing to the people.
I’ve been a carp fisherman for ages, but in recent years, this sport has become a great part of my life. I spend over 100 day per year fishing, spending all my free time by the water, mainly in Slovenia and neighbouring Croatia. As a member of the Bled fishing family, Lake Bled is my prime fishing location. It’s also where I set my record of catching a 27.8 kg fish.
My other favourite fishing spots are Šmartinsko Lake, Lake Slivnica and the Ljubljanica River. I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge with you and help you catch your next trophy-size fish.
I have been a carp angler all my life. I started fishing with my father on my local river Drava. Later on, I turned my attention to many other beautiful Slovenian lakes and rivers. I specialize predominantly on big fish and have so far been quite successful, as my record carp stands at 30.5 kg from the local waters of Šmartinsko Lake, where I have been a member now for quite some time and I know the lake like the back of my hand. I hope to see you as soon as possible to go and catch some prime Slovenian big carp.
I received my first fishing permit when I was 5 years old at the Kočevje fishing family. Since then, all the time I don’t spend at university I spend by the rivers and lakes fishing or as a guide for people who want to get to know our pristine waters. I enjoy catching big predators and salmonids. These are my absolute favourites. I specialise in spin and fly fishing. During my 19-year career, a number of noteworthy specimens have been caught and are proudly portrayed on a large collection of photos: Pike (103 cm), Zander (80 cm), Huchen (100 cm), Brown Trout (70 cm), Grayling (57 cm) and the list goes on.
I started fishing at the age of 6. I spent most of my young age fishing on lakes, but when I discovered fly fishing, it instantly became my biggest passion. I’ve been fly fishing for more than 20 years now and during that time I have fished most of Slovenia’s rivers. I am a member of many fishing clubs and a competitor in the National Championship for 3 years now. My favourite rivers for fly fishing are Soča, Idrijca, Savinja and Tolminka. I am also a big enthusiast of fly tying.
