Its upper parts are full of cascades, rapids and pools that can be accessed easily from the road. This stunning alpine river then weaves its way through a canyon, where fishing takes on a very back-to-nature turn. The fish populous is plentiful throughout the Soča. It includes the Marble Trout, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout and Grayling, which differs from other Grayling species in Slovenia. Chub and Barbel can also be found in its tributaries Lepenjica, Koritnica and Nadiža. The Soča’s gravel bottoms and pools make it suitable for fly-fishing throughout most of the year.
